Apparently unsatisfied with hosting the Hawaiian International Film Festival for a few days, Maui introduced its own festival. The festival will keep its location in the lush fantasy resort community of Wailea. A number of works from local, national and international filmmakers and production teams are screened. Also part of the program are special banquets, panel discussions and even a closing-night gala. An advance screening program known as Big Buzz takes place each Wednesday at the Castle Theater. Ticket prices vary by show.
